Lee Evans said: I am really eager to get back out on tour again and go all around the country. You get such a buzz from the live audience, the reactions are just so immediate and totally drive you on there is nothing else quite like it.

Being the first comedian to play at the O2 Arena will be amazing, I am so energized to be able to perform there it is a big space to fill but I feel affection for a challenge!

Evans broke the Guinness World Record for a solo act performing to the biggest comedy audience at the Manchester Evening News Arena in 2005 when he played to a crowd of 10,108. However, he has set to smash his own record by almost doubling that total in just two nights at the O2 Arena in London.

Bills WR Lee Evans: 2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

Lee Evans returns to his role as the Bills' No. 1 receiver. His seven TDs last season were the most for him since 2006 with Terrell Owens gone.

Except for the TDs,
Evans had a poor 2009 season. Many thought he would flourish with T.O. on the other side, taking away double teams, but he just didn't look the ball very much. It doesn't help him this season that the Bills offense will be one of the NFL's worse.

Evans is a No. 1 receiver on an NFL team and that counts for something. With James Hardy and Roscoe Parrish the other targets, for the Bills QB to Evans will be the focus, whoever that is. With an ADP of 115, I would even wait a little longer to pick him up. If someone wants to take him because of his name recognition, let them do it because he is depth on your fantasy bench at this point. Definitely worthy of a roster spot, but not a starting WR or flex spot.

Lee Evans Big weekend

Bills WR Lee Evans is going to be a busy man on his last free weekend before training camp opens, as he’s got a lot planned in his native northeast Ohio.
On Saturday Evans is hosting his first annual flag football tournament in Cleveland. Taking place at Bedford high school’s stadium, Evans and the Love Ohio All Stars will be facing MMA fighter Gerald Harris and the Support Ohio All Stars. Tickets are still available for the event, which includes a Battle of the Bands competition at halftime.
Lee will also be throwing out the first pitch at Sunday’s Cleveland Indians game against the Tampa Bay Rays at 1 pm.

Lee Evans : Bills sign rookie wideout Marcus Easley

The Buffalo Bills have a glaring hole at the wide receiver position opposite Lee Evans, and now have agreed to terms with a possible solution.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, the Bills have signed fourth-round pick Marcus Easley to a four-year deal that includes a $520,000 signing bonus. Like most rookies, Easley's four base salaries figure to add up to $1.79 million, bringing the minimum value of the rookie contract to roughly $2.31 million.

Just a one-year starter at UConn and a former walk-on, Easley exploded for an 18.6 yards-per-catch average with eight touchdowns as a senior in Huskies coach Randy Edsall's run-heavy offense. Easley ran a 4.42 forty at the Scouting Combine and goes 6-foot-3, 210 pounds.

In March, we rated Easley the 12th best receiver in the draft and predicted he'd go 92nd overall. He was the 14th wideout drafted, and went 107th overall.

Jongleurs to be sued over Dummy Posters.

Comedy club chain Jongleurs is to be sued over allegations it is misleading punters into thinking big names such as Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre and Lee Evans will be playing its venues.

Leading comedy agents Off The Kerb and Hannah Chambers are both taking legal action over a giant billboard which features prominent images of the three stand-up stars beneath the Jongleurs logo.

The 15ft poster in Bournemouth advertises: ‘New comedy club every Friday’ – then gives the booking details, with no suggestion that these three acts would not be appearing

Lee Evans sticks to a winning formula

Can 80,000 Lee Evans fans be wrong?
The compact Essex clown has just completed four sold-out shows with one more to come, shattering the previous comedy record of two shows set by Chris Rock this year.
Making 16,000 fans a night giggle takes some beating.
It is a shame that at times yesterday the laughs were dwarfed by the scale of the event.
The trouble is that to be this popular one inevitably succumbs to lowest common denominator syndrome.
Evans is the Oasis of stand-up. Huge but rarely groundbreaking.
Thus we get well-thumbed topics — sport, road rage, nagging wives, adverts, phones.
His observation about razors having ridiculous names such as Turbo and Stealth was also made to me by a Broadstairs chemist on Sunday.
Although, unlike Evans, he did not run around like a demented chimp as he said it.
It was the physicality that saved the day. A blind acquaintance recently remarked that he used to love this people’s champion until he lost hissight and realised that minus the comic contortions and Chaplinesque waddling the gags were pedestrian.
With body and mouth in synch though, there were still some fine moments, such as when he wondered why it is easier to don a coat alone than when someone is helping and then demonstrated the scenario.
Evans bobbed and weaved like a prizefighterand sweated by the bucketload, but truly knockout punchlines were few and far between.
Topical material extended little beyond a line about Northern Rock and a diatribe against hospitals, which are so plagued by superbugs that “Mrs Mopp is in charge now”.
A joke about being unable to remove CD wrappers felt threadbare in this download age.
It was a reminder that Evans, with his riffs about being henpecked and his sincere “now this is me” musical encore, is strangely old school.
Then again, when he did try something different, such as his quickfire portrait of a relationship from speed date to divorce, he received only polite applause.
The audience wanted new hits that sounded like the old hits or just the old hits.
Evans eventually gave them what they wanted, closing with his much-loved Bohemian Rhapsody mime.
A classic routine in every sense, shame the fresh material could not match it
