Almost 7 million cost Lee Evans Tickets sold out in a day

Famous comedian Lee Evans has sold a enormous £7million value of tickets to his tour Roadrunner in a day of sale. Tickets for the tour went on sale on Friday at 9am and by 6pm, 227,424 had been sold, at £30 each. Leading stand up comedian Lee Evans has announced a huge 51 date UK tour for 2011, his first tour since his famous 'Big' tour in 2008 and tickets will be available through Get Me In.

Embarking on his most ambitious tour to date, the show, named ROADRUNNER will be hosted in some of the biggest arenas in the country.

Kicking off at the Bournemouth International Centre in August, Lee will travel the country stopping off at Brighton, Nottingham, London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Belfast, Liverpool, Manchester, and Cardiff. After a three year break Lee plans to play to more fans than ever on this record- breaking tour of the UK and Ireland.

Following the success of past tours including ‘Wired and Wonderful’ and the XL tour in 2005, producers of new show ‘Roadrunner’ hope it’s his best yet and with four nights at London’s O2 Arena as well as dates at Wembley Arena the show looks set to smash past World Records set by Lee of performing to the biggest comedy audience.

Lee Evans, one of the Britain best-loved stars of stage, screen and stand-up is once again poised to enter the record books with the UKs biggest ever live comedy gig.

With a total of 300,000 Lee Evans tickets available, Lee Evans - Big - UK Tour 2011 will be not only Evans largest tour to date but will make history by including the first comedy gig to grace the stage of the capitals London O2 Arena.

Evans broke the Guinness World Record for a solo act performing to the biggest comedy audience at the Manchester Evening News Arena in 2005 when he played to a crowd of 10,108. However, he has set to smash his own record by almost doubling that total in just two nights at the O2 Arena in London.
